A native of Alabama, Dr. Freeman has also lived in New York and Massachusetts as well as Georgia, and thoroughly enjoyed each locale. History and genealogy are her passions. In addition to these interests, she spends time visiting family and friends, attending church services, reading and watching mystery dramas, dabbling in horticulture, and is an avid football fan. She feels especially blessed to have been married to her husband for over 20 years. Together they have raised two college age children who have sprinkled their lives with joy.
Special Interest
Dr. Freeman has a special interest in the diagnosis, management and treatment of hereditary and acquired bleeding disorders. Many women endure excessive menstrual bleeding throughout their reproductive lives thinking that their heavy bleeding is normal, or alternatively were not properly diagnosed when they did seek help for this problem. Other symptoms may have been frequent nosebleeds during childhood, postpartum hemorrhage, or prolonged postpartum bleeding. Bleeding disorders occur in 1 out of every 100 women and therefore are very common. Besides restricting social and athletic activities, they often result in many major surgical procedures, blood transfusions and general fatigue. She receives a tremendous amount of satisfaction from seeing how women’s lives are changed when their bleeding is normalized..
